UPDATE FOR FELLOWS WEST AFRICAN COLLEGE OF NURSING (WACN): NIGERIA/SUB-REGIONAL CHAPTERS

The information below is intended for the (FWACN) who are residents of Nigeria and other sub-regional chapters. This is to notify the members of series of changes currently going on within the college which in one way or the other affect the members though positively. Members are therefore advised to lookout for information regarding update courses, admission procedures and also help the college on its quest to ensure adequate communication by sending in their data such as emails and phone numbers. I bring you greetings from the West African College of Nursing Secretariat, Yaba Lagos, Nigeria.

I trust that we all made it into 2016 in good health. I have been directed to write to all Fellows in the member countries on the ongoing reorganization at the College and the transition of the College admission procedure from searching interview to fellowship by examination, which comes into effect this year (2016).

You will all be informed in due course on the College mandatory update programmes for all the Fellows of the West African College of Nursing (WACN). You can always check on our website for programmes in your geo-political zones (www.wacn-online.com).

To facilitate the dissemination of information and subsequent correspondences, we appeal that you forward your phone number(s) and email address(es) to the College email, westafricancollegeofnursing@gmail.com. I wish to also bring to your notice that West African Health Organization (WAHO) under which WACN was established by a Treaty is making a passionate request for an authentic nominal roll of FWACN.

This will help in proper planning and placement. The final date for the submission of names and all the relevant information is 31st March, 2016 (please see the attached template).

Note that non compliance after the deadline will lead to delisting and withdrawal of the WACN Fellowship award.

With effect from 2014, the annual due payable by Fellows is $100 which is shared between the Chapter and sub-region in the ratio of 50:50.

Fellows are advised to attach evidence of payment(s) when submitting the form.

It may interest you to know that from 2016, you can pay your $50 or pay the Naira equivalent according to the prevailing rate (Nigerians only) to the College Secretariat directly either in cash or pay direct into the College account at First Bank, Account Number- 2003831052 and Account Name: West African College of Nursing. Teller(s) for such payment(s) should be sent to the College email with full names and phone number.
