Frances
Hughes, Chief
Executive Officer
of the
International Council of Nurses (ICN) has been
awarded a
lifetime achievement award by the
Convenient Care
Association
and
Pharmacy Times Continuing Education
.
According to ICN Press release, the award
honours nurse practitioners
“who go above and beyond the call of duty
to achieve excellence in patient care” over a lifetime.
Dr Hughes received her award at the
2nd
Annual Convenient
Healthcare and Pharmacy Collaborative (CHPC) in
Orlando, Florida
,
USA
.
She was also the keynote
speaker at the conference, where she
spoke on global trends in healthcare and the impact on innovations
such as retail clinics.
“It is a true honour to receive this Lifetime Achievement Award,” said
Dr Hughes. “Innovations, such as retail clinics, which
open up access to healthcare, are vital for
the achievement of Universal Health Coverage, as is collaboration between healthcare
professionals. It is only by working together to ensure accessible, quality care for our
populations that we can truly make an
impact on health.”
