New film for midwives on Obstructed Labour: An Introduction for Midwives.

The Head on Nursing services, Labour ward heads, Midwifery Students, Midwives tutors and community health workers will be delighted to use this video in their various places of work. This video is from Medical Aid Films who produce free videos for health care purposes from time to time to support those working in the health care setting and well as support new trends and education to health workers through videos. This film was filmed at the Gynocare Centre in Eldoret, Kenya, with funding from the Vitol Foundation.  It explains the main causes of obstructed labour, what happens during obstructed labour, how signs of obstructed labour can be identified, and steps to be taken for effective management. The film follows Kandie, a midwife at the clinic, as she monitors a mother in early labour, and a mother with suspected obstructed labour. This film aims to provide valuable support for midwife training across sub-Saharan Africa.
 Medical Aid films is motivated to stop this  "41 women will die every hour from pregnancy related causes, 99% of these deaths occur in developing countries.So many of these deaths could be prevented through delivering education and training to the front line health workers on simple, life saving techniques".
