Today we reflect on the nurses role in the prevention of Hepatitis in the society, our communities and our Nations in  general. A nurse can be an advocate of Hepatitis prevention and create a group to work solely on the prevention of the spread of the virus, correct misconception, Health Educate people on the possible signs and symptoms as well as the availability of treatment.
Nurses as the most populated Health care professionals around the world an the most closely patient relating Health agents can be a driving force in the prevention of Hepatitis and the cure as well owing the nature of a nurse as a counselor, the nurse is in the better position to take all awareness not only Hepatitis to the larger society sequel to this, it is paramount that nurses Get Involved and Think Again! on the possible means to drive this campaign because it could be you!

What is Hepatitis?

Viral hepatitis is inflammation of the liver caused by a virus. There are five different hepatitis viruses, hepatitis A, B, C, D and E. All of these viruses cause short term, or acute infection. However the hepatitis B, C and D viruses can also cause long-term infection, called chronic hepatitis, which can lead to life-threatening complications such as cirrhosis (liver scarring), liver failure, and liver cancer. Viral hepatitis kills 1.5 million people every year. - worldhepatitisalliance
