According to WHO fact sheet on Road Traffic Accident reviewed may 2016, most Road traffic accident and injuries amounting to 90% occur in Low and Middle income countries and mostly among the young aged persons within age 15-29 years. Mostly the categories of persons involved in these accidents are the "vulnerable Road users" such as the cyclists, motorcyclists, and the pedestrians. In total about 1.25 million people die each year as a result of road traffic accidents.
Over speeding, drink-driving, non-use of seat belt, distracted driving , and non-use of helmets by motorcyclists are among the risk factors listed. Males are mostly at risk of being involved in road traffic accidents, while socioeconomically people from low and middle income countries of African regions are mostly at risk. read the full article from here
