West African College of Nursing commences Fellowship by Examination in 2016

West African College of Nursing, the only nursing fellowship awarding institution in Western Africa Region announced this month that its fellowship will now be through examination starting May 2016. The implication of this method of fellowship is that nurses hoping to become fellows will have to take 4 years for the preparation divided into three stages which includes 2 years of in-country studies at an approved institution, one year self directed studies to be supervised by nurse consultants and final one year of clinical research project.
Nurses who possess PhD will be exempted from the basic preliminaries and to be only focus on the research projects in order to be awarded fellowship.
