ICN Leadership for Change Programme™celebrates firstUSA and North Pacific IslandgraduatesGeneva, Switzerland, Honolulu, Hawai’i, USA,23February 2015–On 27 January 2015,the International Council of Nurses’ Leadership for Change Programme™ (ICNLFC) celebrated the graduation of 17senior nurse leaders and human resourcefor healthexecutives from nine US-Affiliated Pacific Island countries and territories (USAPIs). ThefirstICN LFC ever conducted in the USA.
This ICN LFC Programmewas a collaborative partnershipbetweenICN, University ofHawaiʻi at Mānoa Nursing (UHMN), PacificIsland Health Officers Association (PIHOA) andthe American Pacific Nursing Leaders Council (APNLC).The graduation ceremonytookplacein Honolulu, Hawaʻ’i on the campus of the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa.

Benton, ICN Chief Executive Officer. “We look forward to our continued partnership withUHMN, PIHOA and the APNLC. ICN will work now to ensure continued capacity building inour Training of Trainersphase of the ICN LFC Programmeso that new LFC programmes canbe implemented in the USAPIand led by the newly certified ICN LFC Trainers incollaboration with the UHMN.”
Composed of 15 women and 2 men, these dynamic participantsincluded chief nursingofficers, human resource executives, and finance officials of various health ministries fromthe following US PICTs: American Samoa; the Commonwealth of the Northern Marianas; theFederated States of Micronesia (Chuuk, Pohnpei Yap and Kosrae); Guam; Palau,and theRepublic of the Marshall Islands (Majuro and Ebeye).The Monitoring and EvaluationMeeting, Graduation Ceremony and TOT Workshop was held 26-30 January 2015.
