EAHSA, the European Association of Homes and Services for the Ageing, together with Startup Weekend Brussels and lifetech.brussels
will be organizing a Startup Weekend in Brussels at the end of this
month on February 27th - March 1st, 2015 that is dedicated to finding
and developing solutions related to the "ageing population".
The changing
demographics are indeed one of the greatest challenges of this century.
The increasing numbers of older persons raises various questions about
the way society can take care of them in a human but economically
sustainable way. It also opens up opportunities for new services and
solutions that can help older people to live their lives independently,
to monitor their health, perhaps to cope with reduced mobility or other
sensory impairments, etc.
The Startup Weekend will challenge participants to come up with
such new solutions. Anyone with an interest in this topic can
participate. It is essential that you register in the right
category of participants. By doing so, you will help in creating a good
balance between different kinds of expertise that will complement each
other within the following teams:
- Developer: software engineers/coders/developers - in short, anybody who can and will write code
- Designer: anybody with a background in design (graphics, UX/UI, etc.)
- Business: business, marketing & PR
- Health Industry Expert/Health Care Professionals: anyone with medical/health background (or active in that sector)
Registration for the event can be done at http://swbruap.eventbrite.com.
More details about the Startup Weekend is available at www.up.co/communities/belgium/brussels/startup-weekend/5453 or contact cmo@impulse.irisnet.be.
EAHSA will also present some of the outcomes of this weekend at the upcoming Med-e-Tel conference in Luxembourg!
