It was gathered today (August 13th 2014) that a Nurse (Identity withheld) who was under surveillance and quarantined as a result of her contact with the Liberian Man, Late Patric Sawyer known to have brought Ebola Virus into Nigeria has disobeyed instructions issued to her and traveled down to Enugu Nigeria where she has made contact with about 20 persons including her husband.
Sources said that all persons who she came in contact with are now under surveillance in the state.
The Minister of information has urged all Nigerians irrespective of your status, profession and relevance, to obey health workers instructions and help in the reduction of the spread of the deadly virus.
He Also had some words of hope to Nigerians as he said some people had come forward to help in the quick development of a vaccine which will be helpful in the prevention or cure of this virus. He also said that Nigerian Government has set up committees who are looking into every claim made by any preventive measure by any group of researchers or individual and that the Government will help and work together with who ever comes out with good result.
The death toll is rising and Nurses and front line health workers are to be key in prevention of the spread of this deadly virus.
Note: Nurses are part of the front line Health workers who are to be an integral part of this struggle to contain this National emergency, and we are ought to show courage, professionalism and courage in working with other health care practitioners in the field. This calls for compliance, diligence and acceptance of calling.
